STRAW MARQUETRY

is similar technique to wood marquetry but straws are being used instead of wood veneers. Prior to glueing, each stem has to be split open and then straightened out. Process is incredibly time consuming and fully hand made using only a few simple tools. Straws contain natural silica, which gives amazing natural shine, creating 3D illusions when light hits the piece. Humble material, nothing fancy. With amazing performance!
